Give Me A Reason

What’s left of me is nothing.

All I need is one reason to feel something

You’ll find me down at the time of dusk

If you want me to live, do what you must

Don’t forget you were the one who said it all

Let’s run together before we fall.

We’re only six feet away from the cliff

Let’s go and maybe we’ll see life’s gift

Just a few more steps away. What are you waiting for?

Fall now, it’s time for us to see the bottom of the floor

There’s no reason left for us to stay

Give me a reason before we can decay.

When I wrote this,

I was living a dark life. I was just diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). At first, I didn't know what to feel. I told my friends, hoping that maybe they had an answer to this, or response. Most of the time, I just got "oh, I'm sorry." I didn't know what that meant, it really messed with my head. I started to push people away, I didn't want to be hurt, I didn't want to struggle. In a way, I was relieved. There was finally a name for what I've been feeling. The idea that someone who has the similar disorder, can understand what I've been going through. There was peace in this. That we can go through this together, and no matter what, whatever life throws at us, we are not alone.

You are not alone.
